Publication Process

All manuscripts submitted to the IJournal of Education in Middle East and North Africa (JEMENA) are evaluated according to the publication process outlined below:

1. Submission and Preliminary Check

  • Authors submit their manuscripts via the online submission system.

  • The editor checks the manuscript for compliance with the journal’s author guidelines and its aim and scope.

  • A plagiarism check is conducted using tools such as iThenticateTurnitin, or intihal.net.

  • For studies requiring ethics committee approval, it is verified that the necessary documents have been uploaded to the system.

2. Initial Evaluation

  • The editor evaluates the scientific quality, originality, and ethical compliance of the manuscript.

  • At this stage, the manuscript may be rejected or forwarded to the peer review process.

3. Peer Review Assignment and Evaluation

  • The manuscript is sent to at least two independent reviewers under the double-blind peer review system.

  • Based on the reviewers’ reports, one of the following decisions is made:

    • Acceptance

    • Revision (Minor/Major): Authors are asked to revise the manuscript; it is then re-evaluated based on reviewer feedback.

    • Rejection

4. Author Revisions

  • Authors revise their manuscript in line with the reviewers’ comments and submit the revised version within the given timeframe, along with a point-by-point response letter.

5. Final Editorial Decision

  • The revised manuscript is re-evaluated, and the final publication decision is made by the editor(s).

6. Proofreading and Typesetting

  • Accepted manuscripts undergo a final check for language, formatting, and adherence to publication standards.

  • If necessary, language and technical corrections are made.

7. Publication and Online Access

  • Following final adjustments, the manuscript is published and assigned to the relevant issue.

  • The full text of the article is made available through open access on the journal’s website.
